According to DHEC, a net total of 98 new retailers & restaurants were gained within Greenville County from Nov 2022 – Nov 2023.

University Ridge, the new Greenville County Square development, opened for the county government offices this past summer. Many new tenants have been announced since then. Initially, The Perch Kitchen & Tap, Fairway Social, Agave Bandito, Pins Mechanical, Whole Foods Market and Ben & Jerry’s were announced as future tenants. After Lima One Capital’s decision to make University Ridge its new HQ, more tenants were announced in mid-December: Sports & Social, PBR Cowboy Bar, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar, Hawkers, and The Salty. Yet more will be announced as the development comes to complete fruition.

Swamp Rabbit Trail’s Green Line extension and a new Laurens County Loop opened. The trail connection from Legacy Park in Verdae to the Green Line extension is almost complete and opening soon.

Unity Park, initially opening in 2022, continues to grow with the Reedy River Wetlands Preserve opening in May and, Mayberry Field breaking ground in November.

The Greenville Downtown Airport District has a new 15-year master plan that was accepted in October. It features an outline for improvements for the downtown airport and the Greenville Convention Center. Funding has not yet been attained.

Two of Greenville’s YMCAs unveiled new facility upgrades. Eastside Family YMCA opened $2.4 million outdoor multisport complex, and Caine Halter Family YMCA launched $6M capital campaign beginning with installation of a retractable enclosure system over the outdoor pool.

Sage Parts Plus, a global aviation parts supplier, opened operations in May 2023 – announced its new global headquarters and distribution operations in Fountain Inn, Greenville County. They are one of many manufacturing companies coming to the area. For instance, Wenker Inc. announced in July plans to establish its new U.S. headquarters in Greenville County in 2024.
